Leh: In the on-going five-day (Aug 29- Sept 2) intensive tour of Nubra sub-division, Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson has completed the tour of villages under Panamik constituency and several villages of Tiger constituency till August 30.

The tour aims to review and assess the progress of various developmental works undergoing different schemes such as Jal Jeevan Mission, District Capex, SDP.
It is also focused on assessing the grievances and demands of the public at their doorstep.

Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk; EC Ghulam Mehdi; Deputy Chairman, Leh, Shrikant Suse; Councillor Panamik, Tsering Sangdup; Councillor Tiger, Rigzin Lhundup; BDC Chairperson; Sub-divisional Magistrate, Nubra, Dorjey Gyaltson; HoDs/officers of district level and sub-divisional level are accompanying H’CEC on the tour.

In the first two days, H’CEC visited the villages of Sasoma, Changlung, Warshi, Tongsted, Henachey, Nyungsted, Khemi, Sangyar, Aranu-Gongma, Aranu-Yokma, Ayee, Kubet, Hargam,Taksha, Burma, Charasa, Kuri, Murgi, Phukpochey, Panamik-Gongma, Panamik-Yokma, Trisha, Youlkham, Chamshen, Pinchimik and Kyagar.
He visited the Siachen Base Camp and Yarma Gonbo Monastery on the first day of the tour. He also visited the Shatsay-Taknak bridge site.

The early completion/reconstruction of Shatsay-Taknak bridge and the training of Siachen river to prevent soil erosion are the most important demands put forward by the villagers.
Other demands centred around infrastructural development, including construction/renovation of irrigation khuls/headworks, school buildings, community halls, upgradation of medical centres, extension of Abadi deh, upgradation and installation of mobile networks, black-tipped road connectivity, strengthening of manpower at schools and medical centres, promotion of home stays and livelihood opportunities, multipurpose stadium among others.
Regarding the demands, CEC Gyalson instructed the officers to ensure that the pending works are completed on priority and to ensure that new works are completed within stipulated time period.

He assured to send a technical team to assess the causes for collapse of the Shatsay-Taknak bridge once the water level recedes and informed that there is no paucity of funds for the same.
CEC Gyalson also inaugurated the Micro Irrigation System under SDP at Burma village.

Highlighting the importance of JJM, CEC Gyalson urged the villagers to extend their cooperation for the successful implementation of the prestigious scheme of central govt.
