Leh: In the wake of the recent Ladakh bandh and the concerns raised by the business community, Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, convened a crucial meeting with the executive members of the Merchant Association, led by President Shri Tsering Angchuk, to address the ongoing issues.
The meeting served as an open platform for discussion among key stakeholders and administrative officials, aimed at achieving a practical and amicable resolution within ten days. The CEC emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts and transparent communication to resolve the grievances while maintaining the overall interests of the region.
Reaffirming LAHDC Leh’s commitment, Adv. Tashi Gyalson assured the Merchant Association of full institutional support to ensure their concerns are addressed through proper administrative channels. He acknowledged the association’s role in sustaining the local economy and called for constructive engagement going forward.
The Merchant Association expressed gratitude to the CEC for his proactive approach and for facilitating a dialogue that prioritizes both the welfare of traders and the larger community.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including Deputy Commissioner Leh Romil Singh Donk (IAS), Senior Superintendent of Police Shruti Arora (IPS), Additional Deputy Commissioner Ghulam Mohammad, Additional District Development Commissioner Sonam Nurboo, Additional SP Rigzin Sangdup, Tehsildar Dorjey Gyaltsan, Executive Officer MC Leh Stanzin Rabgais, Assistant Director Tourism Padma Angmo, and Assistant Labour Commissioner Rehmatullah Butt.
Also present were President of ALGHA Rigzin Wangmo Lachic, President of ALTOA Tsewang Dorjey, General Secretary ALTOA Tsewang Namgyal, and General Secretary ALGHA Nawang Tashi.
