CEC, LAHDC, Leh Adv. Tashi Gyalson expresses deep sadness over the Tragic Loss of Four Youth; Extends Condolences, Assures Support, and Appeals for Peace
Leh, 25 September 2025:
The Hon’ble Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, has expressed profound grief and deep sadness over the tragic incident that took place on 24th September 2025, which claimed the lives of four innocent youth and left several others injured.
With a heavy heart, the HCEC, Leh, extends his deepest condolences to the bereaved families who have lost their young sons in this unfortunate incident. He also prays for the speedy recovery of the injured. All possible assistance and support will be extended to the bereaved families and the injured.
The HCEC stated that the incident of 24th September was deeply unfortunate. What began as a peaceful expression of democratic concerns suddenly turned into violence that no one had anticipated. The HCEC, Leh, has also requested the Hon’ble LG, UT Ladakh for a thorough investigation into the unfortunate incident.
In this moment of grief, certain rumours are being circulated terming the incident as “Gen Z revolution.” Such narratives are misleading. The youth of Ladakh have always been hardworking, responsible, and peace-loving. They must not be held responsible for such unfortunate developments.
The HCEC humbly appeals to the young people and all stakeholders of Ladakh to remain calm, not to fall prey to misleading information, and to uphold peace.
In this difficult time, LAHDC Leh stands firmly with the people of Ladakh. Together, we must find strength in unity, heal with compassion, and work hand in hand for peace and a brighter future for our youth.
Further, the HCEC, Leh, reaffirmed that the government has assured a Constitutional Safeguard to protect the aspirations of the people, and our leaders have been invited for dialogue.
