Kargil: In Ladakh, LAHDC Kargil CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan in a special message on World Radio Day said that in present day Different Media Platform Radio has a deep root in the society and has maximum listeners in the world.
Feroz Ahmad Khan said that it is a Language Specific Station, which has contributed a lot in reviving the dying language of Purig and in this mission Regional News Unit Kargil has contributed a lot by improving the language used during Purgi News.
Talking about All India Radio Kargil and its importance in the society Feroz Khan Said that since its inception in 1997, with a 1 KW transmitter is the prime source of information which is termed as reliable and after its up-gradation to 200 KW power transmitter in 2003 the reach has been increased upto every nook and corner of UT of Ladakh as well as across border.
This station went on to become a favourite among Purgi, Balti and Shina speakers on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC).
