Kargil: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, inaugurated a two-day emergency life support conference and workshop on BLS/ACLS/ATLS training under the theme “Saving Lives When Every Second Counts.”
The programme was organised by the Department of Emergency Medicine, JPNATC AIIMS and WHO Collaborating Centre for Emergency and Trauma Care, in collaboration with the Department of Surgery and NQAS District Hospital Kargil.
AIIMS-Delhi experts, including Dr. Ankit Sahu, Dr. Charu Malhotra, Dr. Tsewang, and Dr. Suriya Suresh, joined specialists and staff from District Hospital Kargil. The event was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Imteeaz Kacho, Medical Superintendent Dr. Abass, and senior doctors of the district.
Welcoming the AIIMS team, Dr. Jaffer hailed AIIMS as a centre of excellence and urged participants to gain maximum benefit from the crucial life-saving training. He also highlighted his long association with AIIMS Delhi and lauded their commitment to serving underprivileged sections of society.
Emphasising LAHDC’s efforts to strengthen health infrastructure, the CEC said District Hospital Kargil has already been upgraded into a state-of-the-art facility with specialised doctors and modern equipment. He further revealed that he has taken up the demand for establishing a Mini-AIIMS in Kargil with the Union Health Minister and expressed optimism about its approval.
ADC Imteeaz Kacho assured full support from the district administration to make the stay of AIIMS experts comfortable, while Dr. Ankit Sahu thanked LAHDC and District Hospital Kargil for their warm hospitality.
