Council Secretariat to remain closed for one day
Leh: Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson on behalf of LAHDC Leh and the people of Ladakh expressed profound sorrow and grief on the passing and attaining of mahaparinirvana of His Eminence, Chosje Togdan Rinpoche Konchok Thupstan Stanpey Gyaltsan Pal Zangpo last night at around 11:23 PM (IST) at his residence Photang Urgyan Dorjey Choszong in Leh.

Similarly, Executive Councillors including EC Minority, Ghulam Mehdi Ashoor also extended his deepest condolences on the passing of H.E Chosje Togdan Rinpoche.

“It is with deep sorrow that I express my heartfelt condolences and profound grief on the passing and attaining of mahaparinirvana of His Eminence Chosje Togdan Rinpoche. The passing of H.E Togdan Rinpoche is a great loss to the Buddhist community in particular and the entire Ladakh at large. His Eminence was a respected spiritual leader, a beacon of wisdom, and a source of inspiration for all. I pray for a quick reincarnation of Rinpoche to bless us again with guidance in our pursuit of compassion, harmony, and enlightenment,” stated CEC Tashi Gyalson in his message.

The CEC further added that Chosje Togdan Rinpoche’s contributions as the Minister of State for Ladakh Affairs in the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir along with the preservation and promotion of Ladakhi culture and heritage are immeasurable. He also blessed the people on various occasions and has tirelessly worked towards the betterment of the community, fostering harmony and unity among people of different backgrounds.

We, at the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh offer our deepest condolences and pray for a swift incarnation of Rinpoche once again in Ladakh. We will always remember him for his positive outlook on life and honor him as an exceptional scholar and spiritual master of the highest eminence.

Hill Council, Leh led by CEC Tashi Gyalson will pay homage at the Council Secretariat, Leh tomorrow. Furthermore, as a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, it was decided by the Executive Council of LAHDC Leh that the Council Secretariat, Leh shall remain closed for one day i.e., on Saturday, 27th of May, 2023 to honor the legacy of H.E Skyabje Togdan Rinpoche.
