
CEC Gyalson attends Children’s Day celebration at Council Model School Ayu Saboo
Inaugurates newly constructed school building
Leh: Council Model School, Ayu Saboo celebrated Children’s Day Tuesday, wherein the Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Executive Councillor for Minority Affairs, Ghulam Mehdi, and Executive Councillor for Agriculture, Stanzin Chosphel were the guest of honours.
Other esteemed guests included Councillor Phyang Constituency, Tundup Nurbu, DEPO Leh, ZEO Leh, Executive Engineer Construction Division, Venerable Monks from Ngari Institute, village heads including Sarpanch and Panches, Chairperson VEC, Members of SMDC, and the Presidents of Geskul Tsogspa and Ama Tsogspa of Saboo village.
All the staff and students of Council Model School, Ayu Saboo led by the school headmaster were present during the celebration.
In his keynote address, CEC Gyalson extended his wishes to all the students on the joyous occasion of Children’s Day. Lauding the overall performances of Council Model School Ayu Saboo, CEC emphasised the role of community participation and their contribution to strengthening the government-run schools in the entire district.
He also assured of continued assistance from the Hill Council, Leh in ensuring quality education and to further strengthen the education sector at large in Leh Ladakh.
Councillor Tundup Nubu also addressed the gathering and appreciated the role of teachers and villagers of Saboo village in the successful functioning of Council Model School, Ayu Saboo. He expressed his gratitude to the Chairman and Dy Chairman, LAHDC Leh for their unwavering assistance in ensuring adequate infrastructure at the school.
The dignitaries also inaugurated the newly constructed school building and dedicated it to the school. Students and parents showcased a colourful cultural performance during the occasion. Prizes were distributed to the meritorious students by the dignitaries and the school’s supporters were also felicitated.
