KARGIL: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan along with Executive Councilor Health, Mohsin Ali and Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Ghulam Mohi-ud-In Wani today visited Old District Hospital Kargil.
During the visit, the CEC was briefed about the facilities available at the Old Hospital, Kargil. Chief Medical Officer, Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Medical Superintendent Dr Kacho Liyaqat Ali Khan, District Tuberculosis Officer Dr Fatima, District Immunization Officer Dr Jaleel, BMO Kargil Dr Fatima Nissa, besides other concerned officials accompanied the CEC during the visit.
BMO Kargil informed the CEC that all emergency services at the old Hospital will remain functional and all facilities that will be available include Ophthalmology, Dental Section, CT Scan, Blood bank, labor room and causality as it is.
CEC Khan directed the concerned officers to ensure that doctors remain available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the convenience of the general public.
The CMO Kargil informed the CEC that paramedical staff will also be available during the night as they are well trained and will ensure that medicines shall be made available within the hospital for patients and two ambulances shall be kept ready for emergency purpose.
He added that two doctors have been proposed under the NHM and the shortage of manpower shall be filled by outsourcing.
The CMO further informed that the proposal for Urban PHC has been submitted to the Director Health Services UT Ladakh.
