Kargil: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan today chaired a meeting to take review of various issues being faced by Private Schools in the district.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve, Chief Education Officer Kargil, District Education Planning Officer Kargil, OSD with Director School Education Kargil, ZEO Kargil and Secretary & members of All Kargil Private Schools Association Kargil.

The Secretary APSAK gave a detailed presentation about various issues being faced by them. They requested for intervention of the CEC in matters pertaining to timely conduct of class 8th & 9th examinations, grant in aid to private schools, aid to private schools in the CDF of LAHDC Councilors, continuation of girls attendance scholarship, issues of pre and post matric scholarships, allocation of land for office space, equal opportunities in all teacher trainings, sports competitions etc.

CEC Khan gave a patient hearing to the issues and assured to address them on priority.

Speaking about the grant in aid, the CEC said that the GFR 2017 which becomes applicable to UT Ladakh in the aftermath of the reorganization of the erstwhile state of J&K, the Councill would not be able to extend any grant in aid however, the Council will take up the issue of extending support in terms of equipment for better quality of education in private schools.

The Deputy Commissioner also put forth his views and appreciated the contribution of the private schools towards betterment of society. The meeting ended with vote of thanks to the chair by member of the APSA Kargil Murtaza Khalili.
