Kargil: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting to review the necessary arrangements for the upcoming month of Muharram.
Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, SSP Anayat Ali Choudhary, Superintending Engineer R&B, Nissar Ahmad Bagh, AD Tourism, AD FCS&CA, Executive Engineer PHE, CAHO, Executive Engineer R&B, CSHO, and representatives of Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust and Anjuman Jamiat Ulema Isna Ashriya Kargil attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, CEC Khan advised the traffic police department to provide special traffic advisory for the days of Moharram and make necessary arrangements to ensure smooth traffic in the town.
The CEC also instructed the concerned departments to ensure that the cultural events are scheduled keeping in view the Hijri Islamic calender.
The Deputy Commissioner also assured full support from the administration and instructed all the concerned departments to make necessary arrangements as per past practice.
Representatives of IKMT and AJUIAK thanked the administration for their support and arrangements for smooth observation of Muharram. They further demanded to provide early and necessary arrangements in flood affected areas.
CEC Khan instructed the religious organizations to ensure face masks in the congregations in order to mitigate the risk of Covid-19 spread.
