CEC Cup Archery Championship concludes in Leh


LEH: The 8th CEC Cup Archery Championship concluded on Friday in Leh. The closing ceremony was attended by MP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal as the chief guest and he was accompanied by the Dy Chairman/EC Youth Services & Sports, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk as the guest of honour.

Councillor Panamik, Tsering Sandup; Nominated Councillor, Ven Konchok Tsepel; DYSSO Leh, Tsering Tashi, members of the Traditional Archery Society of Ladakh led by their President, and a large number of participants from across the district attended the event.

Addressing the gathering, MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and Dy Chairman Tsering Angchuk stressed the need for promoting traditional archery at grassroots levels through such initiative. They further appreciated the women participants from Nubra region for encouraging young women archers to participate equally in the championship.

They also extended their best wishes to the local participants who will participate in the upcoming Nationals to be held in Ayodhya. Both the officials assured assistance from their end in ensuring good infrastructure and facilities to the budding archers in the coming days.

Participants were felicitated and prizes were distributed among the winner and runner-up teams by the dignitaries.

This Traditional Archery Championship has been organised by the District Youth Services and Sports Department, LAHDC Leh in collaboration with the Traditional Archery Society of Ladakh in Leh.
