Kargil | August 7, 2025 Bringing justice closer to the people, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) Srinagar Bench successfully concluded a three-day long Circuit Sitting at the Tourist Facilitation Centre in Baroo, Kargil.
The special session, aimed at addressing service matters locally, marked a significant step toward improving access to judicial redressal for government employees and pensioners in the remote district.
The Division Bench, comprising Hon’ble Mr. D.S. Mahra (Judicial Member and HoD) and Hon’ble Mr. Prasant Kumar (Administrative Member), conducted hearings in hybrid mode — accommodating both physical and virtual appearances to maximize accessibility.
Of the 68 cases listed before the Bench, 17 were disposed of on the spot. These included 6 Original Applications (OA), 1 Contempt Application (CP), 3 Transfer Applications (TA), and 7 Miscellaneous Applications (MA).
The Circuit Sitting in Kargil reflects CAT’s continued efforts to decentralize justice delivery and ensure timely resolution of service-related disputes for residents in far-flung regions.
