Butter, cold drinks, juices among products found over-dated in Leh

Leh: Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Leh deputed Market Checking Squads in Leh market and its surrounding areas for inspection of the shops.

Market Checking Squads were accompanied by Inspector Food Safety and Police Department.

The team thoroughly checked 25 numbers of shops in Leh market and its surrounding areas out of which in 5 shops some items viz juices, butter, cold drinks etc amounting to Rs. 28,635 were found over-dated.

The enforcement team in presence of Tehsildar, Leh (Magistrate) seized the above over dated items and destroyed on-spot.

Further the Shopkeepers were warned to refrain from selling over-dated items in future, failing which strict action as warranted under rules shall be initiated.
