Phobrang, June 27: Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth today interacted with participants of the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme (VVVP) at Phobrang village in Changthang district of Ladakh, highlighting the crucial role of youth and border communities in nation-building.
Addressing the gathering, Sanjay Seth said that India’s border villages are not the country’s last villages but its first villages, representing the nation’s strength, courage and identity. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for launching initiatives such as the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme, which connect young people with frontier regions and strengthen national integration.
Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya emphasised that India’s youth are the driving force behind the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 and called upon them to actively participate in nation-building through the MY Bharat platform. He informed that over 3.20 crore youth have already joined the initiative and are contributing through volunteerism, leadership and community service.
The event witnessed participation from MY Bharat officials, district administration, Indian Army, ITBP personnel, local representatives and villagers. Participants shared their experiences of living in a border village and described the programme as a transformative journey that deepened their understanding of patriotism, national unity and civic responsibility.
A cultural performance showcasing Ladakh’s rich heritage added colour to the event, while a plantation drive under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign reinforced the message of environmental conservation.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by MY Bharat Ladakh State Director Tajamul Ara, who reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to empowering youth and strengthening national integration across the country.
