Interacts with MY Bharat Youth in Changthang, Highlights Role of Border Villages in Nation Building
Changthang, June 12: Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Nikhil Khadse, on Thursday visited Hemya Village in the Changthang region of Ladakh under the Viksit Bharat Vibrant Village Program, an initiative aimed at strengthening border villages through youth participation, cultural exchange and community engagement.
During the visit, the Minister interacted with participants of MY Bharat Ladakh, who are currently undertaking a cultural and educational tour of the border villages of Changthang. The participants shared their experiences from interactions with local residents, highlighting the region’s rich cultural heritage, unique traditions and the developmental aspirations of people living in remote border areas.
Addressing the gathering, Khadse emphasized the importance of youth engagement in nation-building and appreciated the efforts being made to connect young citizens with India’s border communities. She said such initiatives help foster a deeper understanding of the country’s cultural diversity while encouraging active participation in the vision of a developed India.
The programme was attended by DIG ITBP Leh Frontier Tashi Namgyal, Deputy Commissioner Changthang Nitish Rajora (IAS), Senior Superintendent of Police Changthang Zaheer Abbas Jafri (JKPS) and State Director MY Bharat Ladakh Tajamul Ara, along with officers from MY Bharat, ITBP, district administration and other dignitaries.
The visit provided participants with an opportunity to engage directly with policymakers and senior officials, inspiring them to contribute meaningfully towards national development.
