LEH: In Ladakh, Indian Army has initiated a week-long blood donation camp at the Military Hospital Kargil, witnessing overwhelming support from both civilian volunteers and army personnel.
On the inaugural day of the camp, 35 individuals registered for blood donation, and 20 pints of blood were successfully collected.
The noble initiative aims to strengthen the availability of blood for emergency medical needs and reinforce the spirit of cooperation between the armed forces and local residents.
Speaking on the occasion, Javed Ali, a volunteer from Budgam, village on LoC, expressed his pride in being part of the campaign.
He said, “It feels proud to donate blood, especially in a camp organized by the Indian Army. The people of Kargil have always stood at the forefront to support the Indian Army, be it such humanitarian efforts or any other tasks. We feel honored to contribute.”
Another donor, Haji Ahmad Hussain from Pashkum, commended the initiative and encouraged more people to participate.
He said, “The camp will continue for a week. I appeal to the youth and all capable individuals to come forward and donate blood. It is a service to humanity.”
The camp not only serves as a platform to ensure a ready blood supply but also symbolizes the deep-rooted bond of mutual respect and cooperation between the Indian Army and the people of Kargil.
