Leh, Ladakh,June 5:* On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ladakh, organized a plantation drive at various locations across Leh under the leadership of BJP State President Tashi Gyalson Khachu.
The programme was convened by Gyal P. Wangyal, Dorje Angchuk, Nawang Samstan, Rigzin Chubi , Rinchen Dolkar, Lobzang Larjay and Thinless Chumik, who coordinated the activities to promote environmental conservation and public awareness about the importance of a greener and healthier future.
As part of the celebrations, plantation and cleanliness drives were carried out at the BJP Headquarters, District Hospitals and several schools in and around Leh under the leadership of District Presidents. Party leaders, workers and volunteers actively participated in planting saplings and spreading the message of environmental responsibility.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP State President Tashi Gyaltson Khachu emphasised the importance of collective efforts in protecting the environment and encouraged citizens to contribute towards increasing green cover and preserving natural resources for future generations.
Additionally, plantation and cleanliness drives were conducted across Nubra, Sham, Changthang, Zanskar, and Kargil under the leadership of the respective District Presidents.
