LEH: Chairman, CEC, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, chaired a meeting in the presence of Deputy Chairman, Tsering Angchuk, and Executive Councillor for Art & Culture, Stanzin Chosphel, to discuss the upcoming Bhoti Day celebration, scheduled for April 1, 2025.
During the meeting, CEC emphasized the importance of ensuring a well-organized event that highlights the linguistic and cultural identity of Ladakh.
He also assured financial support from LAHDC Leh and stressed smooth execution for a successful celebration.
This year, Bhoti Day will be celebrated at EJM College, Leh, in collaboration with the LBA Youth Wing, LAHDC Leh, and the EJM Students’ Council. To facilitate smooth execution, a dedicated committee will be formed to oversee the preparations and manage all necessary arrangements.
The event aims to bring together scholars, students, and cultural enthusiasts to discuss the significance of Bhoti language and its role in shaping Ladakh’s rich heritage.
The meeting was attended by CEO Leh, Sonam Wangchuk; Director, Eliezer Joldan Memorial (EJM) College, Tashi Dawa; LBA Youth President, Jigmet Raftan; Executive Engineer (Xen), Construction Division, Imran Khan; LBA Member, Lobzang Nyantak; and executive members of the EJM College Student Council.
Earlier in the day, a delegation from Trisha Village, led by Councillor Panamik, Tsering Sandup, along with Sonam Angchuk (President, Tsogspa), and Sonam Dorjay (member), called on Hon’ble Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson.
The delegation requested for chainlink fencing for Trisha Tso, completion of the footpath at Trisha Tso, construction of a toilet and kitchen for the community hall, and restoration of the headwork along with strengthening of the desilting tank.
CEC Tashi Gyalson assured his support for the demands put forth by the delegation.
Meanwhile, the CEC was also called on by a delegation from Ayee village, led by Panamik Councillor Tsering Sangdup,to submit a representation on key developmental issues.
The delegation included Tsetan Wangyal (President, Tsogpa), Deldan Namgail (General Secretary), Rinchen Dorjay (Secretary) and Stanzin Norboo (Vice President) and other members.
The delegation requested for Release of work done liabilities for the Youth Centre, Completion of the irrigation canal from Kobet to Ayee, completion of the solar lift irrigation system and sought assistance for the purchase of Daman and Surna.
CEC assured the delegation of his support and assistance in addressing the concern raised.
