In their endeavor to promote a culture of Peace in the world for the establishment of a holistic peace-loving global society, through the appropriate understanding of the Role of Science and Religion – Spirituality and Inter-faith and Inter-Religious Dialogue, the World Interfaith harmony conference was organized.

While addressing the gathering, Bhikkhu Sanghasena expressed his deep regret that the world leaders failed in addressing tackling various challenges and crises including the 8th month-long inhuman war between Ukraine and Russia.

He urged the religious leaders to stand up and join together to save this beautiful earth and innocent children from all kinds of catastrophes such as global warming, climate change, environmental and ecological devastation, terrariums, and religious fundamentalism.

He further said it is time for humanity to rise above the pity differences and sectarianism and open their hearts and embraces all human beings are member’s only one family, the human family, the global family. We are not strangers to each other; we are not enemies of each other

He facilitated and expressed his deepest appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Vishwanath Karad, the Founder and President of the MIT World Peace University for his relentless and tireless work in promoting world peace and interfaith harmony. He said the vision of Dr. Vishwanath D Karad is the perfect living example of Vasudev Kutumbaka, i.e the world is one family, he called him Jagat Guru for his work in uniting every religion of the world together.

In a separate meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre Leh-Ladakh and the MIT World Peace University was signed to further strengthen the relationship between the two organizations and collaborate together for the promotion of Meditation, Yoga, and World Peace in future. Every year a group of faculties and students from the MIT World Peace University will be visiting Ladakh to participate in the #Shangrila form of Meditation and Yoga. As part of collaborative steps, MIT WPU will support students from Ladakh on the recommendation of Bhikkhu Sanghasena to study in any field, particularly yoga, meditation, and world peace at their University.

Bhikkhu Sanghasena later visited the Rajbaugh (Bungalow of Late Actor Shri. Raj Kapoor) which was donated to the MIT World Peace University and is now being preserved as a museum in his honor and the school of Fine arts, Media and Communication, which is situated within the university campus.
