Leh: In a major step toward strengthening foundational education in Ladakh, the Hon’ble Deputy Chairman of LAHDC Leh, Mr. Tsering Angchuk, inaugurated the new Model Balvatika Room and Mathematics Lab at DIET Leh today. The facilities have been developed under the NIPUN Bharat Mission, focusing on early-grade literacy and numeracy.
The launch event was attended by key dignitaries, including Ms. Bhanu Brabha (IAS), Secretary of School Education, UT Ladakh, along with educators and stakeholders committed to improving the region’s education ecosystem.
To complement the launch, a five-day summer orientation program is underway at DIET Leh from July 28 to August 1. This training, in partnership with 17000ft Foundation, is equipping FLN teachers from various schools with skills in lesson planning and the Vidya Pravesh curriculum. These trained teachers will soon begin implementing the program for Grade 1 students, ensuring a smooth and engaging entry into formal education.
Running parallel to this is another five-day training session focused on digital content creation for the PM eVidya channels. Organized in collaboration with Purple People Lab, the initiative aims to enhance digital teaching methods and enrich classroom experiences across Ladakh.
Together, these initiatives highlight Ladakh’s commitment to delivering quality foundational education and equipping both teachers and students with the tools they need to thrive.
