Leh: The Ladakh Pencak Silat Association successfully hosted the Asmita Khelo India Pencak Silat Women’s League 2025 at the NDS Indoor Stadium in Leh, bringing together around 150 women and girls from across the region to compete and showcase their martial arts talent.
The event was graced by Mr. Abhinav Sharma, Director, who travelled from Delhi to Ladakh to serve as the Chief Guest. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for his support and presence.
Shri Tsering Tashi, DYSSO Leh, attended as Guest of Honour. Other notable guests included Mrs. Hashay Maloo, President of Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam; Mrs. Kunzang Dolma, President of the Ladakh Buddhist Association (Women Wing); and representatives from Anjuman-e-Imamia Leh.
Adding star power to the event were accomplished athletes such as Ms. Padma Chuskit, International Icestock Hockey Player; Ms. Abida Afreen, the first Muslim woman to summit Mt. Everest; and national volleyball players Ms. Seerat Fatima and Ms. Huma Salam, who shared words of encouragement with the young participants.
A heartfelt thank you also goes out to the parents who have supported and stood by their daughters every step of the way in their sporting journeys.
The Ladakh Pencak Silat Association extends its gratitude to the Asmita Khelo India Women’s League and the Asmita Khelo India Program for creating such an empowering platform for women athletes. This league has proven to be one of the finest under the Khelo India initiative, offering grassroots opportunities for girls and women to shine.
We are excited to announce our next major event—the 9th Pencak Silat Federation Cup, scheduled to be held from 2nd to 4th August 2025. We invite all athletes, parents, and supporters to join us once again in celebrating sports and talent in Ladakh.
