Leh: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu arrived in Zanskar today to participate in the revered Yarchos Chenmo, the annual spiritual congregation held at Karsha Monastery, one of the largest and oldest monastic institutions in the region.
CM Khandu, a devout Buddhist, is visiting Zanskar to seek blessings from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and Largyal Rinpoche during the sacred event, which draws devotees, monks, and spiritual leaders from across the Himalayas and beyond.
The Chief Minister was warmly received at Zanskar by officials of LAHDC Kargil and the District Administration, marking a moment of cultural and spiritual solidarity between Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh.
The Yarchos Chenmo serves as a unique confluence of faith, dialogue, and devotion in the serene valley of Zanskar. With the His Holiness Dalai Lama currently in the region, this year’s gathering holds special spiritual significance for the thousands in attendance.
CM Khandu’s visit underscores the shared Buddhist heritage of the Himalayan belt and highlights the growing inter-regional cultural exchanges aimed at preserving age-old traditions.
