Archery Tournament held at Shakmakila Kargil
BDC Sodh attends as Chief Guest
Kargil: Chairman Block Development Council, Sodh, Zakir Hussain attended the Archery tournament at his native place Shakmakila Sodh Block as chief guest.
The tournament was organized by Sports and Social Welfare Association Sodh.
Teams from various villages of Hundermaan to Sharchey Batalik participated in the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, the BDC congratulated the winner team and appreciated the organizers for conducting such a wonderful tournament.
He said such tournaments are important to keep alive the traditional game in today’s world.
Archery is a cultural game played in almost every part of Ladakh with the onset of spring season. The game is a sort of celebration for Ladakhis where villagers participate with customs and rituals.
The BDC also assured public that he is always available for the welfare of people of Sodh. The chief guest also distributed prizes to the winner and runner-up teams.
