Leh, October 27: The Director of Social & Tribal Welfare Department, UT Ladakh, Ms. Kunzes Angmo (JKAS), chaired a review meeting to assess the progress and implementation of Adoption under Mission Vatsalya.
During the meeting, the Program Manager, SARA UT Ladakh, presented a comprehensive report outlining the current status, achievements, and challenges in the adoption process across the Union Territory.
Emphasizing the importance of awareness and proactive intervention, the Director directed the District Child Protection Units (DCPUs) to intensify efforts in identifying Prospective Adoptive Parents (PAPs). She also called for greater outreach through Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Community Health Centres (CHCs) to strengthen community-level awareness about adoption.
The meeting was attended by DCPOs of Leh and Kargil along with other key officials associated with Mission Vatsalya.
