ALSWAJ urges Defense Minister to airlift stranded UT students to Ladakh

Leh: All Ladakh Students Welfare Association Jammu (ALSWAJ) Sunday urged the Union Defense Minister for immediate allocation of IL-76 Aircraft for the evacuation of Ladakhi students stranded away from their homes presently in Jammu.

In a statement All Ladakh Welfare Students Association Jammu (ALSWAJ) President, Mohd Hassanain Rocky urged the Union Defense Minister to take urgent measures in order to ensure immediate airlifting Ladakhi students stuck in Jammu.

“With a great respect & high hope, I am writing to urgently request your assistance in arranging the allocation of an IL-76 aircraft for the upliftment of stranded students in Jammu” read the statement issued seeking Union Defense Minister’s intervention.

These students are facing difficulties due to the blockage of roads and unaffordable airfares, making it impossible for them to reach Kargil on time for their Constable in Border & Women Battalion Exam, documents verification for various posts of DSSRB on 28th of Feb & classes of many students are going to start from 1st March, the letter read.

As the President of ALSWAJ, he has witnessed first-hand the challenges faced by these students, and he believes that the allocation of a special aircraft, similar to the arrangements made earlier, is the most effective solution to ensure their timely arrival in Kargil.

“I kindly request your prompt attention to this matter and would be grateful for any assistance you can provide in arranging the special aircraft. Thank you for your understanding and support. I look forward to your positive response,” ALSWAJ President said.
