Kargil, Dec 31: Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, today attended the closing ceremony of the District-Level Sports Meet organised by Mera Yuva Bharat, Kargil, at Munshi Habibullah Mission Higher Secondary School.
ADC Kacho, who was the Chief Guest, lauded the organisers for successfully conducting the event despite harsh weather conditions. He congratulated winners Green Valley, Karkitchoo, and runners-up Down Town, Andoo, after witnessing the final volleyball match.
Addressing the gathering, the ADC stressed the role of sports in building discipline and responsible citizenship, urging youth to stay away from drug abuse and social evils. He assured continued support from the District Administration for youth-centric sporting initiatives.
Councillor Taisuru Abdul Hadi, the Guest of Honour, praised the enthusiasm and dedication of the players and encouraged youth to prioritise sports for fitness and personality development.
District Youth Officer, Jigmet Spaldon, informed that six sports events for both boys and girls were organised during the meet and highlighted Mera Yuva Bharat schemes aimed at promoting sports culture through club affiliation and sports kits.
