Leh: Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Leh, Mr. A.G. Zargar, today chaired a high-level review meeting with National Level Monitors (NLMs) from the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
The meeting focused on evaluating the progress and implementation of major rural development schemes in Leh district.
The NLMs—Mr. Amrendra Kumar and Mr. Rakesh Kumar Verma—are on an official visit to Leh to assess the performance of key government schemes at the Panchayat level.
These include flagship programmes like MGNREGA, PMGSY, PMAY-G, IWMP, NRLM, and NSAP.
The meeting saw participation from Block Development Officers (BDOs) of Chuchot, Kharu, and Skurbuchan blocks, along with officials from IWMP Leh, NRLM, Revenue and Social Welfare Departments, and Panchayat Secretaries and Inspectors.
Discussions covered scheme-wise progress, ground-level challenges, and the role of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs)in ensuring effective implementation and community engagement.
ACD Zargar welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed the district’s commitment to transparency and cooperation. He emphasized that such reviews are vital to identify gaps, improve service delivery, and ensure that development benefits reach the grassroots level in a timely and efficient manner.
