Kargil, May 11:
A delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party from Kargil, led by Tashi Khachu, called on Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Vinai Kumar Saxena, and raised several developmental and public welfare issues concerning Kargil district.
The delegation comprised former CEC LAHDC Leh Tashi Gyalson, former Chairman JKLC and Vice President BJP Ladakh Haji Anayat Ali, President BJP Kargil unit Assadullah Munshi and Mohammad Askari.
During the meeting, the delegation demanded the upgradation of several government schools in Kargil district, particularly MS Marpothang, Ranthag Namsuru, Wakha Goshan and many other institutions. The leaders stated that the issue had also been raised earlier during the tenure of the former Lieutenant Governor.
The delegation expressed gratitude to the administration for approving the upgradation of Girls Higher Secondary School Hagnis, describing it as a long-pending and genuine demand of the party and the local population, which had been proposed repeatedly over the years.
The BJP leaders also demanded the establishment of a Zonal Education Office at Headquarters Marpothang under TSG Block and creation of a Niabat for Thasgam Barsoo Block of Sankoo Zone to strengthen administrative and educational infrastructure in the region.
The delegation further sought amendment in SRO-520 issued by the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir Government regarding the command area issue for the benefit of 13 employees. Various issues concerning government employees were also taken up during the interaction.
Vinai Kumar Saxena assured the delegation that all genuine demands and issues would be addressed as early as possible.
Speaking on the occasion, Haji Anayat Ali thanked the Lieutenant Governor for his special consideration towards Kargil and expressed hope that the district would witness greater development and progress in the future.
