Leh, May 05, 2026: The ongoing Mega Free Medical Camp at Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) Devachan Campus witnessed increased participation on its fourth day, as part of the Sacred Exposition of the Holy Relics of Gautama Buddha in Ladakh.
Organised by the UT Administration in collaboration with MIMC and SNM Hospital, the camp has been drawing people from across the region and will continue till May 14, 2026.
On Day 4, over 100 beneficiaries—including local residents, monks, nuns, workers, and students—availed free medical check-ups and consultations, reflecting growing outreach and trust in the initiative.
A dedicated team of specialist doctors, including gynaecologists, physicians, ENT specialists, surgeons, dental surgeons, and ophthalmologists, provided comprehensive care. Key services included:
TB and NCD screening
Radiology and diagnostic facilities
General and specialist consultations
Adding a traditional healing dimension, a Sowa-Rigpa medical camp was also organised by the National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa under the Tribal Health Care Research Programme. Experienced Amchis offered consultations and distributed traditional medicines free of cost based on diagnosis.
The initiative continues to play a crucial role in ensuring accessible and inclusive healthcare, especially during the large-scale spiritual gathering, addressing a wide range of medical needs while reinforcing public health outreach in Ladakh.
