A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed between the Directorate of AYUSH, UT Ladakh under the National AYUSH Mission and Lamdon Model Senior Secondary School (LMSSS Leh) on 8th April 2026 at Leh.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Tashi Thinlas, Director of AYUSH, UT Ladakh, and Tsewang Dolma Principal of the school.
This collaboration, with the establishment of a Yoga Wellness and Meditation Centre, aims to promote holistic health and well-being through the integration of yoga and meditation practices within the school environment, benefiting students, staff, and the local community.
The key objectives of the MoU include promoting yoga education, extending wellness services to the community, building sustainable capacity by training school staff, and developing the institution as a model wellness center. Regular yoga classes, morning meditation sessions for hostel students, Yoga Club activities, and community outreach programs will be conducted as part of this initiative.
The Directorate of AYUSH will provide qualified yoga instructors, training support, and limited financial and institutional assistance. The school will ensure the availability of infrastructure, coordination, and active participation of students and staff to successfully implement the program.
This initiative marks a significant step towards fostering a culture of wellness, preventive healthcare, and holistic education in the region. Both parties expressed their commitment to ensuring the long-term sustainability and success of the program.
The MoU will remain valid for a period of one year and may be extended with mutual consent.
