Khaltse, March 18: A Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) camp was successfully conducted at Wanla village on March 17 under the supervision of Block Medical Officer Dr. Shamim Ahmed, providing much-needed healthcare access to residents in the remote area.
A team of specialists, including gynaecologist Dr. Padma Ladol, medical officer Dr. Stanzin Phunchok, and dental surgeon Dr. Nilza Angmo, participated in the camp to deliver a range of medical services.
During the camp, a total of 17 patients received gynaecological consultations, while antenatal check-ups were conducted for three expectant mothers. Dental consultations were provided to 17 individuals, and 25 patients underwent screening for non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Additionally, a cataract survey covered 15 patients, and as many as 93 laboratory tests were carried out.
The initiative witnessed strong participation from local residents, who welcomed the effort to bring healthcare services directly to their doorstep. Villagers expressed gratitude to the medical team, appreciating the outreach and the comprehensive care provided during the camp.
The MMU initiative continues to play a vital role in extending healthcare services to underserved and remote communities across the region.
