Leh: A team from the National Institute of Sowa Rigpa, Leh headed by Director, Dr. Padma Gurmet participated in the main event of the 8th International Day of Yoga observance led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi at Mysuru, Karnataka.
It was followed by an exhibition on Sowa Rigpa highlighting the fundamentals of Sowa Rigpa and the rich medicinal plants of Trans-Himalaya.
Also, a free Sowa Rigpa medical camp was organised by the National Institute of Sowa Rigpa, Leh for the general public during the main event.
The participants showed great interest in the Sowa Rigpa system of medicine. The event began with a speech by the Union Minister of AYUSH, Sarbanand Sonowal followed by Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi also addressed the gathering on the occasion.
A mass yoga performance was conducted with 15,000 participants at Mysuru Palace.
