Leh, Feb 6:
In connection with the ongoing 2nd Mediation for the Nation Drive 2.0, the Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Leh and Principal District & Sessions Judge, Leh, chaired a review meeting at the District Court Complex to strengthen and streamline the mediation process.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Special Mobile Magistrate, Tehsildar Leh, nominated officers from the District Administration, President of the Bar Association Leh, along with mediators and members of the Bar.
During the deliberations, participants decided to intensify public awareness campaigns on mediation and ensure timely referral of suitable civil, matrimonial, family, commercial and compoundable criminal cases. Emphasis was also laid on maintaining proper documentation and reporting of mediation proceedings.
The meeting further stressed structured coordination and systematic scheduling of mediation sessions at the District Court, Leh, along with the need for training and capacity building of mediators and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs).
Highlighting the significance of mediation, the Chairman stated that it plays a vital role in promoting amicable settlement of disputes, reducing litigation burden and strengthening social harmony within communities.
The meeting concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to actively support and implement the objectives of the 2nd Mediation for the Nation Drive 2.0.
