Kargil, Dec 31: Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, today flagged off the first batch of students from Government PM SHRI Higher Secondary and High Schools of Kargil district for an exposure tour outside Ladakh under the PM SHRI (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India) Scheme.
Under the programme, students will visit Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Jodhpur to gain educational and cultural exposure. Addressing the students, the ADC encouraged them to explore museums, libraries and historical sites, interact with diverse cultures and cuisines, and use the tour to broaden their knowledge and perspectives. He wished the students and escort teachers a safe and enriching journey.
Chief Education Officer Sonam Wangchuk briefed the students on the tour itinerary and advised them to remain in close coordination with escort teachers to make the most of the learning opportunity.
In the first phase, 60 students accompanied by four escort teachers have been sent on the tour. Overall, 414 students with 29 escort teachers will participate in the exposure programme, which will be conducted in seven groups over 10 days.
