Kargil, December 21: The Archery Tournament organised by Chums Sports Club, Chokiyal, concluded on a high note at Toko Playground, Drass, with enthusiastic participation and a thrilling final.
The closing ceremony was graced by Councillor, Bhimbat Constituency, Abdul Wahid, as the Chief Guest. The final match saw Chums Sports Club edge past Goshen Sports Club in a nail-biting contest, winning by a narrow margin of one point (63–62).
Addressing the gathering, the Councillor underlined the importance of education, sports and good health, stating that youth development remains a top priority. He assured full support for the promotion of sports activities in the constituency to channel young talent in a positive direction.
On the occasion, ₹20,000 was announced as a cash prize for the organising club, while ₹5,000 was awarded to Goshen Sports Club in appreciation of their sportsmanship and participation.
The tournament concluded with appreciation for the organisers and players for successfully conducting the event and promoting archery in the region.
