Leh, December 13, 2025:
The district administration today conducted a major public outreach camp under the flagship initiative “Mimangs-si-sJabstok” (Administration at Your Doorstep) at Skampari A Community Hall, Leh, ensuring direct delivery of government services to residents of Skynos Gogsum, Skampari A, Soldier Board, Nurbuling and Sabu Lababs.
The camp was led by Zonal Soil Conservation Officer Leh, Mohammad Ali, who welcomed the public and introduced officials from multiple departments. Representatives briefed residents on ongoing projects, welfare schemes and upcoming initiatives, while also addressing long-pending grievances.
The Power Development Department (PDD) highlighted the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, offering rooftop solar installations from 1 kW to 10 kW, and promoted the Ladakh Bijli App for convenient bill payments.
The R&B Department updated residents on infrastructure works and assured action on issues related to water supply, roads, sewerage, illegal roadside parking, and the pending Polo Ground–Manaylhang road. Concerns over speed breakers and footpaths on the Skampari–Nubra road were also taken note of.
The PHE Department acknowledged uphill water pressure issues in Skampari and informed that a new scheme will soon address the problem, along with the rollout of online services for registrations and complaints.
Focusing on environmental protection, the Forest Department promoted community plantation drives, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, and Mission LiFE, urging residents to plant trees within their campuses, avoid plastic burning, and adopt waste segregation to curb pollution and protect the fragile ecosystem.
Financial inclusion formed a key component of the camp. CFL staff facilitated on-the-spot enrollment under social security schemes, recording seven new linkages—five under PMSBY, one under PMJJBY, and one under APY. Additionally, six new ration card members were added, and one NPHH card was upgraded to PHH.
The Agriculture Department briefed farmers on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and Kisan Credit Card facilities, while officials confirmed the deployment of an ABC company to address the stray dog menace. The ICDS Department highlighted child welfare and nutrition schemes, and senior citizens were informed about the Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana.
Residents actively raised civic issues, including irregular garbage collection, stray dog safety concerns, and delays in land allotment that hinder commercial activities such as homestays. They also urged better inter-departmental coordination to prevent repeated damage to newly completed infrastructure.
Several services were delivered on the spot, with many grievances receiving immediate attention and assurances for timely resolution. Concluding the programme, Mohammad Ali thanked the public and officials, assuring that all feedback and complaints would be forwarded to the concerned departments for appropriate action.
The successful camp reinforced administrative outreach and strengthened trust between the government and the local community.
