Leh, November 24, 2025 — Thiksay village today hosted a vibrant public outreach camp under the Mimang-Si-Sjabstogs (Administration at Your Doorstep) initiative, drawing participation from around 200 residents and showcasing the administration’s continued push for grassroots accessibility.

The programme began with a traditional welcome, as the Village Nambardar greeted Nodal Officer Dr. Shakil Ahmed—Livestock Development Officer and In-charge Chief Animal Husbandry Officer—along with officials from various departments. Expressing gratitude for the administration’s outreach, the Nambardar underscored the significance of such programmes for rural communities.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ahmed said the Mimang-Si-Sjabstogs initiative is designed to bridge the gap between government machinery and citizens by delivering essential services directly to village doorsteps. He urged people to freely share their concerns and assured that all grievances submitted through proper channels would receive timely redressal.

Dr. Ahmed highlighted several key schemes of the Animal Husbandry Department, outlining their benefits and encouraging villagers to make full use of livestock development programmes. He also acknowledged local demands, including strengthened support for animal feed and the need for a full-time veterinary doctor in Thiksay, which has a substantial livestock population, especially Jersey cows.

Departmental representatives briefed the public on schemes across sectors, while villagers raised issues related to the Jal Jeevan Mission, food and supplies, and welfare benefits. Numerous applications submitted through the Nambardar were formally handed over to the Nodal Officer for onward action, with residents expressing optimism about early resolutions.

The camp also delivered a robust set of on-spot services. These included the updation of 35 Aadhaar cards, generation of 4 ABHA IDs and 14 Golden Cards, and 52 NCD screenings—covering BP, haemoglobin, and blood sugar checks—with 36 individuals receiving medicines on the spot. Additionally, 11 new family additions, 4 deletions, 9 e-KYC updates, and 1 residence certificate issuance were completed under ration and residency-related services.

The event marked yet another successful chapter in Ladakh’s ongoing effort to ensure citizen-centric, accessible, and accountable governance at the grassroots level.
