: As part of National Cyber Security Month, the Government Model Degree College (GMDC), Zanskar, in collaboration with the Ladakh Police, organized an informative lecture on the “Significance of Cyber Crime Awareness.”
Held under the supervision of Principal Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi, the session featured Sub-Inspector Stanzin Yangzom of Zanskar Police Station as the guest speaker. She delivered an engaging presentation on cyber threats such as phishing, sextortion, cyberstalking, password cracking, financial scams, and online fraud, while emphasizing preventive digital safety measures.
The event began with a traditional khatak presentation by faculty members and a welcome address by Ms. Jigmet Chondol (Assistant Professor, Economics). It concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Haider Ali Askary (Assistant Professor, Sociology) and a souvenir presentation by Dr. Jigmet Zazay (Assistant Professor, Zoology).
The program underscored the growing need for cyber awareness and responsible online behavior, especially among students in the digital era.
