Kargil: Chairman, CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon Wednesday called upon Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, J.P. Nadda at New Delhi to appraise about healthcare scenario in the district including functioning of the department and challenges faced in the region due to the distinct and harsh geographical conditions.
The CEC submitted a comprehensive memorandum touching all the important aspects of the health sector and requested the Hon’ble Minister for consideration of the issues.
Dr Akhoon held an exhaustive discussion on the health scenario in the district with the Minister in presence of Dr Manashvi Kumar, Joint Secretary, H&FW, Aradhana Patnaik, Additional Secretary & MD NHM, V. Hekali Zhimomi, Additional Secretary H&FW and other senior officers of the Ministry.
The CEC took up various issues including the need for upgradation of District Hospital Kargil and sanctioning of post of Doctors, para-medical and supporting staff, establishment of super-speciality Hospital (Mini AIIMS) at Kargil, establishment of Nursing College at Kargil, upgradation of PHCs/NTPHCs/AAMs in the district and sanction of new healthcare centres in the district.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to all the demands raised by CEC and after discussion with the officers of the Ministry assured that these issues shall be addressed and considered in the best interest of Kargil.
Dr Akhoon extended his gratitude to the Minister for listening to the demands and assurance for fulfillment of the requirement in health sector of Kargil.
