Leh: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur on Tuesday virtually interacted with students from Ladakh who are currently undergoing training at Dakshana Foundation in Pune.
Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Adv Tashi Gyalson; Acting Chairman, LAHDC Kargil, Aga Syeed Abbas Razvi; Commissioner Secretary, School Education, Ajeet Kumar Sahu and Director, School Education, Dr Safdar Ali, were present during the interaction session.
LG Mathur appreciated the Dakshana Foundation team for taking the initiative to provide residential coaching to students from Ladakh.
Stating that Classes 10 to 12 are the formative years in the careers of students, he stressed on the need to build a strong base for students in subjects such as Science and Maths.
LG expressed the hope to see all students succeeding in NEET/JEE examinations to make the people of Ladakh proud.
He requested Dakshana Foundation to provide training to teachers on subjects such as Science and Maths.
LG Mathur interacted with the students to learn about their experiences of undergoing the residential coaching programme at Dakshana Foundation.
Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Adv Tashi Gyalson requested Chief Executive Officer, Dakshana India Educational Trust Fund, Commander Arun Mishra, to reserve more seats for students from Ladakh so that underprivileged students from remote areas can avail of the benefits and clear NEET/JEE exams.
Acting Chairman, LAHDC Kargil, Aga Syeed Abbas Razvi, also thanked Dakshana Foundation for the initiative for providing free coaching to underprivileged students from remote areas of Ladakh.
Commander Arun Mishra of Dakshana Foundation gave a detailed presentation about their initiatives and their various free residential coaching programmes to help underprivileged and talented students to fulfil their dreams of studying at IIT or in medical colleges.
He shared that there has been an increase in the number of students from Ladakh enrolling for the residential coaching programme.
Earlier, Commissioner Secretary Sahu welcomed the guests and briefed about the Pune-based NGO that is providing free residential coaching programmes to underprivileged students from remote areas of Ladakh aspiring to appear in JEE/NEET examinations.
He apprised that 24 students from Ladakh are currently undergoing the coaching programme at Dakshana Foundation.
Director, School Education, Dr Safdar Ali gave the vote of thanks.
