Leh: With the objective to Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC), the administration of Leh started work at historic zero border village Demjok.

“Providing FHTCs to every household is not easy job in Ladakh . Jal Jeevan Misson work started at historic zero border village Demjok . Our team on job for empowerment community on border areas to fulfill dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of Har Ghar Jal ,” tweeted Jal Jeevan Mission department of Leh.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Jal Jeevan Mission, is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections by 2024 to all households in rural India.
The programme will also implement source sustainability measures as mandatory elements, such as recharge and reuse through grey water management, water conservation, rain water harvesting.
The Jal Jeevan Mission will be based on a community approach to water and will include extensive Information, Education and communication as a key component of the mission.
As a result, today 100 districts in the country are enjoying the benefits of clean tap water supply and Jal Jeevan Mission is on track to fulfil the Government’s resolve to provide tap water supply to every rural household by 2024.
