District Police Leh takes the cognizance of a viral video of Pangong lake side driving
Leh, 13th April: District police Leh has lodged an FIR in PS Nyoma with regard to the viral video being circulated in the various social media platforms in which some tourists were found driving an Audi car along the shore of the Pangong Lake. As per the preliminary enquiry the incident had happened the last year yet given the gravity of offence, cognizance has been taken, and FIR under relevant sections of law has been lodged and investigation started.
It is pertinent to mention here that already 02 different FIRs for the same kind of incidents have been registered at PS Nyoma last year and involved accused (tourists) were also arrested.
District Police Leh once again requests the visiting tourists to be cautious while visiting the world famous tourists spots like Pangong lake to be sensitive towards the ecology of the place. Besides being scenic, it is the home for a large number of migratory birds who come for hatching, and these kind of incidents disturb their habitat and damages the ecosystem.
