Leh: The administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh has announced a significant hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) of employees by four percent.
An order to this effect upon approval by Lieutenant Governor R.K. Mathur, was issued by Umang Narula, Advisor to LG and Secretary Finance.
The order said, “In pursuance to the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India, OM No. 1/3/2022-E-II (B), dated: 03.10.2022, it is hereby ordered that the Dearness Allowance payable to the employees working in Union Territory of Ladakh, shall be enhanced from existing rate of 34% to 38% of the basic pay with effect from 1stJuly, 2022.
The Term “Basic Pay” in the revised pay structure means the pay drawn in the prescribed Level in the Pay Matrix as per 7th Pay Commission recommendations, but does not include any other type of pay likes special pay, etc.
The Dearness Allowance will continue to be a distinct element of remuneration and will not be treated as pay within the ambit of FR 9(21).
“The payment on account of Dearness Allowance involving fractions of 50 paisa and above may be rounded to the next higher rupee and the fractions of less than 50 paisa may be ignored.
