Khaltse: The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervor at the SDM Stadium, Khaltse. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khaltse, Mohd Sharif, unfurled the National Flag at 10:00 AM, followed by the National Anthem presented by students of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Khaltse. The Guard of Honour was presented by Ladakh Police, Khaltse.
In his address, SDM Mohd Sharif extended warm greetings to the people of Khaltse Sub Division, paying tribute to the sacrifices of countless heroes whose unity secured the nation’s freedom. He also highlighted the achievements of various departments over the past year.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Skarma Angchok served as the Parade Commander. Students of GHSS Khaltse presented stirring renditions of the National Anthem and band performances.
The event was graced by Munsif Judge (Judicial Magistrate First Class) Khaltse, Syed Tayoub Bukhari. A total of 11 parade contingents showcased discipline and coordination, including:

The celebration also featured traditional cultural programmes and colorful dance performances by school students.
The event was attended by Station House Officer (SHO) Khaltse, Jamyang Namgial, officers and officials from various departments, ex-servicemen, and Namberdars. The programme concluded with the Chief Guest distributing prizes to all participants.
Similarly, the 79th Independence Day was celebrated at Naibats Wanla, Skurbuchan, and Temisgum. At Naibat Wanla, Naib Tehsildar Phuntsog Namgial unfurled the National Flag in the presence of Namberdar Wanla Shri Skarma and villagers. At Naibat Skurbuchan, Naib Tehsildar Abdul Samad unfurled the National Flag, and at Naibat Temisgum, Naib Tehsildar Mohd Iqbal unfurled the National Flag in presence of Namberdar and villagers of the said villages.
