LEH, JUNE 16: A Special Brain Science Workshop themed “Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat” was successfully organised at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, bringing together over 250 students, educators and dignitaries for a day of scientific learning, national integration and educational innovation.
The programme was organised by the Nav Chetna Swabhiman Charitable Foundation in collaboration with Kalika Brain Science Academy to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and celebrate 150 years of Vande Mataram.
The event was attended by Joint Director, School Education Department, UT Ladakh, Zakir Hussain Samrah, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Principals, teachers, parents and students from various schools across the region participated enthusiastically in the workshop.
Welcoming the guests and participants, Ms. Tsering Yangdol, Head of Department, DIET Leh, highlighted the importance of educational innovation, national unity and the holistic development of students. She stressed the need to empower young minds through scientific learning and knowledge-based approaches.
The programme also featured an insightful address by Shri Jagannath K. Swain, Director, Nav Chetna Swabhiman Charitable Foundation, who attended as the Guest of Honour. Speaking on the theme “Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat,” he underscored the values of national unity, cultural harmony and constitutional ideals, encouraging students to embrace India’s diverse heritage and contribute to nation-building.
A major attraction of the event was the interactive Brain Science Workshop conducted by Dr. Sunil Rajput (H.C.), Brain Science and Mnemonics Expert and Founder & CEO of Kalika Brain Science Academy. Through demonstrations and practical activities, he introduced participants to memory enhancement techniques, concentration-building exercises and scientific learning methods aimed at improving academic performance.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Zakir Hussain Samrah lauded the organisers for bringing innovative educational initiatives to Ladakh and urged students to cultivate scientific thinking, discipline and lifelong learning while upholding the ideals of national integration and unity.
Students also presented vibrant cultural performances reflecting the spirit of “Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat,” showcasing India’s rich cultural diversity and heritage. The performances received enthusiastic appreciation from the audience.
Certificates of Participation were awarded to students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Leh, Government Middle School Spituk and Government Middle School Gompa for their active involvement in the workshop. A special Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Ms. Sonam Diskit, Teacher, Government High School Matho, for her inspiring speech on national unity.
During the programme, several distinguished personalities were honoured for their contributions to education, leadership, administration and community development. Among the awardees were IAS officer Bhanu Prabha, Zakir Hussain Samrah, Delden Angmo, Mirza Mehdi, Padma Deachen, Chamba Standar, Tsering Yangdol, Tsering Wangdus, Chetna Sharma, Priya Rajput, Neha Rajput, Sandeep Dalpatia and Ajaiz Allahi.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Sunil Rajput, who expressed gratitude to the DIET Leh administration, participating schools, teachers, students and volunteers for their support. Organisers reiterated their commitment to promoting educational excellence, innovation and holistic development in line with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
