Srinagar, June 15: The second batch of Haj pilgrims from Ladakh, comprising 144 Hujjaj, arrived safely at Srinagar International Airport on Monday after successfully completing the sacred Haj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
The pilgrims were accorded a warm and traditional welcome by the Haj Committee, Union Territory of Ladakh. The reception was led by Chairman of the Haj Committee, UT Ladakh, Ghulam Abbas Abidi, along with committee members Ghulam Mohammad, Mohammad Hussain, Sheikh Liaqat, Bilal Ahmad, Smt. Asha Maloo and Zahra Bano.
As a mark of respect and affection, the returning pilgrims were welcomed with traditional Khataq ceremonies, creating an atmosphere of joy and gratitude at the airport.
The Haj Committee expressed heartfelt appreciation to Sheikh Nazir Mohammadi, Sheikh Nasir, Sheikh Habibullah, Sheikh Ibrahim, Sheikh Hussain G.M. Pore and Syed Altaf for their invaluable guidance, support and assistance to the pilgrims throughout the Haj rituals and during their stay in the Holy Land.
The Committee also commended the dedicated efforts of religious scholars, guides and volunteers who remained available at every stage of the pilgrimage, ensuring the comfort, safety and smooth conduct of the sacred journey for the Hujjaj.
Members of the Haj Committee congratulated the pilgrims on the successful completion of one of Islam’s most important religious obligations and prayed for the acceptance of their Haj. They also offered prayers for peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of Ladakh and the nation.
The arrival of the second batch marked another significant milestone in the return of Haj pilgrims from Ladakh, with family members and well-wishers expressing happiness at the safe return of their loved ones.
