Kargil: A total of 112 awareness and benefit saturation camps were conducted across 14 blocks of Kargil district under the Dharti Aaba Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan 2025, as revealed in a detailed presentation by Mansoor Hussain from the ICDS department during the formal closing ceremony held at the Auditorium Hall, Kargil.
The month-long initiative concluded on a high note, with active participation from citizens and departments alike. The event was attended by Executive Councillor for Tourism Kacho Mohammad Feroz, Executive Councillor for Agriculture Aga Syed Mujtaba, Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC Kargil Rakesh Kumar, SSP Kargil Shri Ram R., and officials from various line departments.
In his address as Chief Guest, EC Kacho Mohd Feroz appreciated the district administration for the successful execution of the campaign. He underlined community involvement as the campaign’s backbone, stating that the beneficiaries were not only registered but also educated about various welfare schemes offered by the government.
“LAHDC remains committed to supporting the administration in ensuring effective implementation of development programmes across the district,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar emphasized the inclusive nature of the campaign, particularly in reaching tribal and remote populations. He noted that the impressive turnout and high registration figures reflect the campaign’s success. He further assured that grievances collected during the drive would be addressed on a priority basis in a phased manner.
Programme Officer ICDS Nargis Banoo, in her keynote address, highlighted that the campaign successfully covered every village and block, with the ICDS Department acting as the nodal agency, coordinating closely with other departments to ensure doorstep delivery of services.
The event also saw the distribution of residence certificates to selected beneficiaries, while plant saplings were presented to dignitaries as tokens of appreciation. Information stalls set up by various departments offered attendees guidance on available government schemes and services.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by ACR Kargil Jehangir Akhoon, and the event proceedings were conducted by Dr. Anwar Ali Tsarpa from the Information Department.
