Padum, Zanskar, August 27, 2026: An awareness workshop on the Gems of India Challenge was held at Dak Bungalow, Padum, on Wednesday to encourage aspiring and emerging content creators from Zanskar to participate in the national-level initiative.
The workshop was led by Rajeev Kumar Dubey and Aditya Kumar Singh, Programme Officers, WAVES OTT and Nodal Officers for the Gems of India Challenge in Ladakh UT.
During the interactive session, the resource persons briefed participants about the objectives, participation process and opportunities associated with the challenge. They encouraged local creators to come forward and use the platform to showcase the distinctive stories, culture, heritage and potential of Zanskar and Ladakh.
The participants also interacted with the resource persons and raised queries regarding the challenge and its participation process. Their questions were addressed during the session, providing greater clarity on how aspiring creators can take part.
The workshop emphasised the importance of documenting and presenting the rich cultural identity and diverse stories of India, while highlighting the role of young creators in bringing lesser-known narratives to a wider audience.
Participants were also encouraged to spread awareness about the challenge among their friends, families and communities, with an aim to ensure wider participation from Zanskar.
The workshop concluded with an appeal to young and emerging content creators to seize the opportunity and actively participate in the Gems of India Challenge, turning the unique stories of Zanskar into a wider digital narrative.
