Leh: In Ladakh, World Bicycle Day was celebrated with a Cycling Rally from Kanoor Bridge to Ashina, organised at Trespone Kargil by Trespone Adventure Club in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kargil as part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
The rally was flagged off by Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Aga Syed Abass Razvi in which students and youths participated.
While interacting with the youths Syed Abass Razvi said that using Bicycle in daily life has two benefits one is a healthy body as it helps in workouts and the second benefit is to avoid use of vehicles which directly helps in control over emission of Carbon in the environment.
Mr Razvi further added that keeping into mind the fragile environment of Ladakh we all Ladakhi’s has to specify one day for bicycle which will benefit both health as well as environment.
District Youth Officer of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kargil Jigmat Spaldon said that the Nehru Yuva Kendra is focused on the development of youths in a comprehensive way with a overall development in their personality and health.
Such programmes are in pipe line in future also and will be organizing such programmes in different parts of the district.
Trespone Adventure Club is an association of youths working on diverting the youths from the menace of drug abuse and mobile by organizing such healthy events time and again.
