The University of Ladakh is set to host it’s 2nd Convocation Ceremony on 22nd September 2025, marking another milestone in it’s journey as the first university of the Union Territory of Ladakh. The event will celebrate the academic accomplishments of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral scholars across diverse disciplines, highlighting the University’s commitment to fostering knowledge, innovation, and cultural preservation in the Trans-Himalayan region.
The ceremony will take place at the Tourist Felicitation Center (TFC), Kargil with dignitaries, faculty, students, and parents are expected to gather in large numbers to witness this proud moment. The Chief Guest for the occasion will be Shri Kavinder Gupta, Hon’ble Chancellor of the University of Ladakh/Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory Ladakh. Dr. Pawan Kotwal (IAS), Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor/ Chief Secretary, Union Territory of Ladakh will also grace the occasion. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Prof. Saket Kushwaha will preside over the conferring of degrees, certificates of merit, and gold medals to outstanding students.
The event shalls also be graced by distinguished Guest of Honours, including Prof. (Dr.) Nilofer Khan, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir, Dr. Mohd Jaffar Akhoon, CEC, LAHDC-Kargil, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, CEC, LAHDC-Leh, alongside senior officials of the Ladakh administration, and the religious heads of the region.
This convocation will see the conferment of degree to students of the academic sessions 2024 and 2025, including those attending in person and in absentia. The University will also honour it’s doctoral scholars and recognize the academic distinction of gold medalists, underscoring its growing reputation for academic excellence.
Since its establishment in 2019, the University of Ladakh has emerged as a hub of higher education and research in the region, with campuses in Leh and Kargil. The institution continues to expand it’s academic programs, strengthen research initiatives, and provide opportunities for the youth of Ladakh to engage with national and global knowledge systems.
The convocation promises to be an inspiring occasion, celebrating the dedication of the graduating students and reaffirming the University’s vision: “Come and Learn at the Top of the World.”
